This week we’re launching our new Trotec Foam which is a laser friendly PE Foam (Polyethylene Foam). In honor of this, we’re making a custom foam insert with our Trotec Speedy 360 laser cutting machine.
We first 3D print our main object using a MakerBot we got from Proto3000. We then snap a picture of it, trace it in Adobe Illustrator and cut our foam accordingly. We then use 3M Foam Adhesive to glue all four 0.5″ foam slabs together to create our deep 2″ insert.
Finally, we laser engrave our logo and product details on our TroGlass Clear 3mm cast acrylic and cut.
This laserable PE foam is perfect for any type of packaging and storage!
