How to adjust the focus position of the laser cutting machine?

As we all know, laser cutting machine has many advantages, such as high cutting accuracy, smooth cutting section and no burr, which are closely related to its focus control. Focus control is what we call focusing. The early application of laser cutting mainly depends on manual focusing. With the development of laser technology, the automatic focusing function gradually replaces the manual focusing mode. How to adjust the focus position of laser cutting machine? The following is a detailed description for you.
High quality and high-precision cutting is related to the lens diameter and the material to be cut, so it is also important to control the position of the focus and the surface of the material to be cut. The cutting focus needs to be adjusted according to different materials and requirements. The adjustment of the laser cutting machine focus position can be divided into the following three aspects:
Positive focal length
That is, the cutting focus is inside the workpiece. When the workpiece to be cut is stainless steel or aluminum steel plate, the cutting point is usually in the workpiece. In this mode, because the focus is far away from the cutting surface, the cutting amplitude is relatively larger than that of the cutting point on the workpiece surface. At the same time, the cutting airflow is required to be large, the temperature is sufficient, and the cutting and piercing time is slightly longer; Therefore, when the workpiece material is stainless steel or aluminum and other materials with high hardness are selected.
Negative focal length
That is, the cutting focus is on the workpiece. The reason why the focus is on the cutting material is mainly because the thick plate needs a large cutting range, and the oxygen delivered by the nozzle is easy to be insufficient, leading to the cutting temperature drop. The disadvantage of this mode is that the cutting surface is relatively rough, which is not suitable for high precision cutting.
0 Focus
That is, the cutting focus is on the workpiece surface. The smoothness of the upper and lower surfaces of the workpiece is different. Generally, the cutting surface close to the focus is relatively smooth, while the lower surface far away from the cutting focus is rough. This mode shall be determined according to the process requirements of upper surface and lower surface in practical application.
