This week, we’re laser engraving anodized aluminum with our Trotec Speedy 100 laser engraving machine. We’re making a photo engraving application and an industrial application.
We use our Tessa double sided tape as adhesive for our anodized aluminum, placing it on our stainless steel laser cutting table. We do this so the material doesn’t bow from any heat caused by the laser.
For our first application we use a high-quality photograph that we’ve edited in our design software. Finally, we laser engrave an industrial blue print application on our satin red anodized aluminum.
Anodized aluminum is suitable for engraving both with a CO2 laser and with mechanical engraving devices. The protective anodized coating remains intact during laser processing. The image contrast is caused by the removal of the coloured coating and near-photographic qualities can be achieved. An extremely detailed, white engraved image is created.
