Here, a compact laser marking source is attached to the end of a 6-axis robot to provide laser marking on engine block castings. A complete laser safety enclosure is provided to protect the operator from stray laser radiation and mechanical hazards due to robot motion.
Components are loaded and unloaded from the cell via a linear conveyor track. Power operated automatic access doors lift automatically to allow components to pass through the enclosure walls.
The laser marking application gives a permanent high-contrast black mark which can be used for alphanumeric information, logos, 2D matrix marks and barcodes.
