▼ Why can't a DIODE laser cut thick materials? | KERF explained,3d-PrintCreator

The Ortur Master, Neje Master, or any other diode laser machine, they all have a hard time when it comes to cutting materials thicker than 3mm. The reason is that the laser used is a so-called DIODE laser, and they have an unusual KERF.
Diode lasers have a light source that is not round, but rectangular, and this light source ensures that the cut that a diode laser makes in the direction of the X axis has a very different thickness than the cut that the same laser makes in the Y axis.
Normally with a sawing or cutting device you name the thickness of the cut, and this thickness is then called KERF, but with a diode laser this is difficult to indicate, because there are a few variables that determine the thickness of the cut. That’s what this video is about.
