This shows a technique using the hand-held CO2 laser to very superficially “zip strip” a surface area such as skin while maintaining control of the laser and limiting unwanted thermal effects. There are automated scanners and pattern generators that do this, but this is the technique to do it freehand. This may be extrapolated to micromanipulator use as well.
