How to solve the edge burning problem of optical fiber laser cutting machine?

Before, we learned why the fiber laser cutting machine had edge burning. Now let’s look at how to solve the edge burning problem.
1. Solution to overburn of optical fiber laser cutting machine when cutting carbon steel pinholes: in carbon steel cutting with oxygen as auxiliary gas, the key to solve the problem is how to prevent the generation of oxidation reaction heat. It can adopt the method of assisting oxygen during perforation and lagging over to assist air or nitrogen for cutting. The pulse cutting conditions with low frequency and high peak output power can reduce the heat output and help optimize the cutting conditions. Setting the conditions as single pulse laser beam, high peak output of energy intensity and low frequency can reduce the accumulation of molten metal on the material surface during the perforation process and reduce the heat output.
2. Solution for optical fiber laser cutting machine in aluminum alloy and stainless steel cutting: In the processing of such materials, nitrogen is used as the auxiliary gas, and edge burning will not occur during cutting. However, due to the high temperature of the material inside the small hole, the slag hanging phenomenon inside will be more frequent. The solution is to increase the pressure of the auxiliary gas, and set the conditions as high peak output and low frequency pulse conditions. When using air as auxiliary gas, it is the same as when using nitrogen, and overburning will not occur, but slag is easy to form at the bottom, so it is necessary to set the conditions as high auxiliary gas pressure, high peak output, and low frequency pulse conditions.
