Laser Engraved Wall Mirror | CO2 vs Fiber Laser Sources | Mirror Acrylic

This week in the FLEXX zone we’re laser engraved a wall mirror made from our TroGlass Mirror extruded acrylic. We’ll show you how you can use both CO2 and Fiber laser sources when engraving the acrylic mirror.

For CO2 laser source, we flip the mirrored acrylic over and reverse engrave our design (flip our design horizontally). We then spray paint the back and let it dry.

For Fiber laser source, we put the mirror facing up. The fiber laser is a different wave length so it passes through the top clear acrylic layer hitting and dissolving the thin bottom mirror layer.

We found that engraving this material with the Fiber laser is a better engraving than CO2. However you still need a CO2 laser to cut out the shape of the mirror.

This is why the Trotec FLEXX laser has both CO2 and Fiber in one machine, making it the perfect laser machine!
