Recently Makers Workshop got an upgrade, a Laguna EX 150 watt Laser Cutter. I wanted to take on a project that would really maximize this laser cutter’s full potential, so I decided to tackle a laser cut furniture piece, specifically a walnut laser cut desk… and then my daughter asked if she could use my test cut of the desk pattern as her remote learning desk, so naturally I obliged and wound up taking one TWO laser cut desks. In addition to the laser cut parts these desks feature local live edge slabs that we dried ourselves, and Total Boat Resin Rivers down the middle.
I’m looking forward to making more laser cut furniture in the future. The Laguna EX 150 handled the 1/2 inch plywood like butter.
