Comgrow Z1 Laser Engraver Review: Engraving, cutting on different wood boards using 10W laser module,Aurora Tech

Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. Two weeks ago, I reviewed the Mini Engraver. It was my first engraver, and I had a lot of fun with it. It can engrave on many different materials, including paper, cloth, wood, glass and coated metal, but it was not designed for cutting. Today I am going to review this Comgrow Z1 Laser Engraver. The major difference between this and the mini-Engraver is that the Z1 has a larger volume, it moves much faster, and it comes with a more powerful laser module. You can choose the 5-watt laser for $299 or the 10-watt one for $499. As I would like to engrave at a higher speed and use this machine to do more cutting, I will test out the 10-watt module.

The laser module we used is a 10W. For engraving, both 5W and 10W can get the job done. The only difference is you can engrave 2 times faster using a 10W module. But for cutting, the 5W can only cut up to 4mm wood according to the manual. A 10W can cut up to 8mm of solid wood based on our own test. What can you expect from this $150 mini laser engraver? Comgrow Mini Laser Engraver,Aurora Tech

Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. I have made quite a lot of videos for reviewing and upgrading 3D printers, as well as desktop CNC machines. This will be my first video for a laser engraver. Like most people when they’re just getting started, I would like to try an entry-level affordable machine to get my feet wet. After comparing with quite a few similar machines, I found that they are basically the same in terms of the design, working area, and laser module. I chose this Comgrow Mini Laser Engraver as I previously tried their Robo CNC and made a video to upgrade the spindle to 500W, and I was quite happy with the result. So, today, I will review their machine and share with you what you can expect from this $150 budget-friendly machine.
