Tips for laser antifreeze

In winter in the north, the wind is chilly. When the temperature is below 0 °, liquid water will condense into ice. In the process of solidification of liquid water, the volume will become larger, “splitting” the pipes, joints and components in the water cooling system. The components of the water cooling system (including chiller, laser and output head) will be damaged due to the lack of timely maintenance, which will lead to the delay and loss of production operations. Therefore, the laser antifreeze work must be done in advance.
When does it not need to add antifreeze?
If it can be ensured that the equipment use site will never be powered off, the water cooler will be kept on at night without considering the power consumption, and the cooling water will be in continuous circulation and the temperature will not be lower than the freezing point.
When must antifreeze be used as coolant?
We must use antifreeze when the operating environment is often powered off and the conditions for draining coolant every day are not available. The base liquid of antifreeze is generally composed of alcohol and water. It requires high boiling point and flash point, high specific heat and conductivity, low viscosity at low temperature, no foaming, no corrosion to metal parts, rubber hoses, etc.
How to select antifreeze?
When selecting or preparing antifreeze, it is recommended to select professional brand antifreeze. At the same time, it should be noted that its freezing point should be 5 ℃ lower than the minimum temperature of the use environment.
Reasonably set the adding proportion
When the required temperature is at least – 15 ℃, the minimum addition ratio is 3:7 (3 for antifreeze, 7 for water). After adding antifreeze, it can resist – 15 ℃ without freezing.
Precautions for use of antifreeze
Any antifreeze cannot completely replace deionized water and cannot be used for a long time all year round. After winter, the pipeline must be cleaned with deionized water or purified water, and the deionized water or purified water must be used as coolant again.
