Under what circumstances are laser cutting machines selected?

The laser cutting machine uses the heat generated by the laser beam guided by the reflector or optical fiber. Different types of materials can be cut according to different types of lasers.
CO2 laser cutting machine is generally used to cut plastic, foam, wood, glass, textiles or mild steel. CO2 laser cannot cut reflective metals, such as copper or brass.
The more powerful optical fiber laser cutting machine is specially used for cutting metal plates, steel, stainless steel, aluminum and some plastics.
Laser cutting can cut different materials by setting laser parameters without changing tools. This is a very precise process, with a very small gap width, which can achieve complex contours. Depending on the material to be cut, the cutting speed can be very fast. The laser cutting machine is fully automatic, almost without manual intervention, which greatly limits the risk of accidents.
The main limitation of laser cutting is that its shallow cutting depth is about 25 mm. Therefore, the main application of laser cutting is to manufacture metal plates (especially in the automotive industry) and frames (for electrical cabinets, computers, etc.). For workpieces with a thickness of more than 25 mm, plasma cutting is the most appropriate method. The area heated by the laser beam is not very large, but the temperature will rise sharply, so great deformation will occur.
Laser cutting will produce gas emissions, so it is necessary to ensure that the room where the cutting machine is located is well ventilated.
