Method of cleaning lens of metal laser cutting machine

The lens of the metal laser cutting machine is a relatively compact part, and it is also the place most likely to get dirty and stuck with dust. We need to clean it frequently. Cleaning the lens of the metal laser cutting machine is a meticulous job. Now we will tell you how to clean the lens of the metal laser cutting machine.
When cleaning the lens, be very careful. Before cleaning the lens, please see the following precautions:
1. You must wear finger cots or rubber gloves when taking lenses, because dirt and oil drops on your hands will contaminate the lenses, causing performance degradation.
2. Do not use any tools to take the lens, such as tweezers.
3. The lens should be placed on the lens paper to avoid damage.
4. Do not put the lens on the rough or hard surface. The infrared lens is easy to be scratched.
5. Do not clean and touch the surface of pure gold or copper.
The first step is to gently clean light pollutants (dust, flocs)
Use an air balloon to blow off the floating objects on the lens surface. If the pollutants cannot be blown off, continue with the second step. Note: Do not use factory compressed air, because it contains a lot of water and oil, which will form harmful absorption films on the film surface.
(The lens with mirror base only needs the first step)
Step 2 Gently clean light contaminants (dust, fingerprints)
Wet the cotton swab or cotton ball with acetone and propanol, and gently scrub the surface. Avoid scrubbing vigorously. Scratch the surface as quickly as possible to facilitate the evaporation of liquid without leaving streaks.
If the dirt cannot be removed in this step, continue with the third step.
Note: 1) Use cotton swabs with paper handles and high-quality surgical cotton balls.
2) Reagent grade acetone or propanol is recommended.
Step 3 Properly clean moderate pollutants (saliva, oil droplets)
Wet the cotton swab or cotton ball with white vinegar, scrub the surface with very little force, and then wipe off the excess white vinegar with a dry cotton swab. Then immediately wet the cotton swab or cotton ball with acetone and gently wipe the surface to remove the residual acetic acid.
If the dirt cannot be removed in this step, continue with step 4.
Note: 1) Only cotton swabs with paper handles can be used
2) Use high-quality surgical cotton balls
3) Recommended concentration of acetic acid is 6%
The fourth step of cleaning operation for new metal laser cutting machine lenses must not be carried out. The following steps are only used for very dirty metal laser cutting machine lenses and lenses that are ineffective for front cleaning. If the film is wiped off, the lens will lose its function. The obvious color change indicates the peeling off of the film.
Step 4a Strongly clean the seriously polluted lenses (splash)
For those extremely polluted lenses, we use a polishing paste to remove these pollutants.
Shake up the polishing paste, pour 4-5 drops onto the cotton ball, and then gently make a circular movement on the lens. Do not press the cotton ball down, the self weight of the cotton ball is enough. If too much pressure is used, the polishing paste will scratch the surface quickly. Turn the lens frequently to avoid over polishing in one direction. The polishing time shall be controlled within 30 seconds. At any time, if the color changes, stop polishing immediately, indicating that the outside of the film is being corroded.
Step 4b
Wet a new cotton ball with distilled water, and gently scrub the lens surface of the metal laser cutting machine. The lens should be fully wetted, and the residual polishing paste should be removed as much as possible. Be careful not to dry the lens surface of the metal laser cutting machine, which will make it difficult to remove the remaining polishing paste.
Step 4 c
Quickly moisten a fluffy cotton swab with propanol, gently clean the entire metal laser cutting machine lens surface, and remove as much of the residual polishing paste as possible.
Note: If the diameter of the lens exceeds 2 inches, use a cotton ball instead of a cotton swab for this step.
Step 4 d
Wet a fluffy cotton swab with acetone and gently clean the surface of the metal laser cutting machine lens. Remove the polishing paste and propanol left in the previous step. During the final cleaning with acetone, the cotton swab gently wipes the lens, overlapping, and the entire surface of the straight line is wiped. During the last scrubbing, slowly move the cotton swab to ensure that the acetone on the surface dries rapidly. This will eliminate the streaks on the lens surface.
Step 5 Inspection of clean lenses
The last step is to carefully inspect the lens surface in the sun on a black background. If any residue of polishing paste is found, repeat 4b-4d until it is completely removed
